Many years ago I had a makeup blog so its nice to stem back to my roots and talk about one of my biggest loves besides Little H…oh and my husband; MAKEUP!

As many of you know I am a professional makeup artist and run my own freelance makeup artistry business. I have been doing this for a few years now, I also worked for MAC Cosmetics so you know you can trust me when I say a product is good!

These are my staple products that I wear for an everyday look, so eye products aren’t included as I have eyelash extensions (which are AHH-MAZING). I will be doing many more makeup blogs which will include eye products, contouring etc. So not to worry!13616203_10155308795794815_574566622_o

Foundation & Concealers

I love a good full-coverage foundation that has more of a matte finish as I tend to get oily skin. If this is what you love too then MAC Studio Fix Fluid is the foundation for you. With this product a little goes a long way. If you like a lighter coverage you can even mix a bit of moisturiser in with it and there you have a tinted moisturiser!

My holy grail concealer is the MAC Prolonger concealer! It doesn’t budge and sits perfectly under the eyes with minimal creasing. The trick with under your eyes is to always use a good eye cream and use a good fluffy brush when applying. This concealer has the same consistency as a foundation just a touch thicker so it is easy to blend or mix in with your foundation for a fuller coverage.

To highlight and brighten up under the eyes, along the bridge of the nose, top lip, chin and forehead I always use the YSL Touche Éclat which comes in a few different shades. I pat this product into the skin with my finger or buff it in with a small fluffy brush.

Primer & Finisher

I have used the M.A.C Prep + Prime on myself and my clients for years it works so well with normal to oily skin types and really helps the makeup stay in place. Remember with primers always put your day moisturiser on underneath, some people think the primer replaces the moisturiser but it doesn’t.

At the end of my makeup I always spray the Skindinavia Finishing Spray. It helps the makeup stay in place all day (please don’t spray your face with hairspray haha).

The Powders

After I have applied my liquid foundation I set it with M.A.C Studio Fix Powder. It is a matte finish and also gives extra coverage. The days I don’t have time to put makeup on I like to quickly dust this powder all over to even out my skin tone.

My favourite bronzer is NARS Laguna! It has no glitter or sparkly crap in it so when used to contour it looks nice and natural. For blush I go for the M.A.C Mineralise blush in Subtle Breeze. To be honest the whole mineralise blush range is beautiful. I find a good blush that applies nicely is hard to find but you can’t go wrong with these.

I have a slight obsession with highlighters but the Becca Champagne Pop highlighter is incredible and lasts all day. I find some highlighters after a couple hours soak into the skin and disappear but this one really stands out.

Brows

I have a few favourite products for brows but the easiest and the one with the best longevity is Brow Magic by PONI Cosmetics. It is a waterproof crayon which only comes in the one colour but magically suits everyone! It doesn’t smudge and one end has a brow brush which comes in handy.

L & R; M.A.C Viva Glam V, Colourpop Midi, Maybelline Colordrama Nude Perfection

Lips

Now lipstick is my thang (yes I just said thang). I tend to lean towards more nude colours as it is more natural and goes with everything. My first favourite is Colourpop Liquid Lipstick in ‘Midi’ it’s your perfect nude. I love this as when it sets I can kiss Little H and it doesn’t leave marks all over her face haha.

The next one is M.A.C Viva Glam V it is your perfect everyday natural lipstick. I use this ALOT on brides as it a beautiful bridal colour and has a bit of shine to it without having to use sticky lipgloss.

The last is a good cheap one; Maybelline ColorDrama in Nude Perfection. It a nice matte with great pigmentation. You would never guess it was a drugstore product.

So there you have my basic makeup staples for everyday. I hope you enjoyed seeing the products I love and use. If you would like a certain makeup post done please comment!
